The crypto asset sector in Armenia is going through an important stage of formation and institutionalization. Whereas in previous years the market developed mainly based on practical demand, technological interest, and private initiatives, today it is gradually moving toward a clearer legal, regulatory, and supervised environment.

Services related to crypto assets are no longer viewed solely as a technological innovation or a digital transfer tool. They have become services connected to the financial system, where customer identification, risk assessment, verification of the origin of funds, proper transaction documentation, and compliance with international principles for combating money laundering and terrorism financing all carry significant importance.

The role of the Central Bank of the Republic of Armenia in this process is pivotal. Building a regulated environment requires market participants to adopt a more systematic approach, internal policies, responsible management, and higher standards of customer service. This is an important change for both service providers and users, since the sector's development must be based not only on technological capability but also on trust, transparency, and legal clarity.

At the international level, the regulation of the crypto sector is heavily influenced by the approaches of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF), which are aimed at applying anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism financing requirements to digital assets and their service providers. These principles are also important for the Armenian market, since crypto asset transactions, by their nature, often follow an international and network-based logic.

OurExchangeClub views the development of Armenia's crypto sector as an opportunity to build a more responsible, long-term, understandable, and stable market. It matters to us that the buying and selling of crypto assets develops not through shadow or unregulated practices, but on the basis of clear rules, a professional approach, and principles of customer protection.
These changes can, in the long term, elevate Armenia's role in the region's digital finance and Web3 environment. A regulated, educated, and responsible market creates the foundation on which new services, business models, partnerships, and technological initiatives can develop.
